 4th stage Ambazac - Limoges:
from the Monts d’Ambazac to the final circuit and Beaublanc
Something completely new for Ambazac and the Communauté de Communes des Monts
d’Ambazac and Val du Taurion, which receive the stage start of the final stage.
Completely new ... opposed to something more traditional with the comeback to Limoges on the now famous circuit of Beaublanc.
Back in Haute-Vienne, the riders will follow a ride with some short climbs, in the heart of the Monts d’Ambazac. The first real climb of the day is in Jabreilles (km 30 - MG 3).
After a short visit of the Creuse department over a few kilometers, the peloton will go back to Ambazac (km 56), before continuing towards Limoges.
The whole agglomération of Limoges will again be part of the party since the race will visit Saint Just le Martel, with the second climb of the day (a Côte of the 2nd category), Boisseuil, Le Vigen, Solignac,
Aixe sur Vienne, Verneuil… before the riders enter the final circuit of Beaublanc.
The stage victory will be taken in front of many spectators who come to see the stage finish on the Boulevard the Beaublanc, in front of the Palais des Sports. Like in previous years, a sprint finish is most probably:
Romain Feillu won it last year, but we also remember the sprints
won by Thor Hushovd in 2005, Sébastien Hinault in 2006 or Alexander Usov in 2007. Only Benoît Vaugrenard managed to win the stage a few meters ahead of the peloton, in 2008.
